An American Wedding at Scotland’s Boturich Castle
“You captured our wedding beyond even my wildest dreams. I will always hold you in a special place in my heart for all these amazing memories we get to relive”. – Cristina & Peter
Woke up still dreaming of castle views and quiet reflections that take your breath away. Some memories stay with you forever.
Two hearts, a romantic Scottish Loch and a sky that softened just for them — as if even the wind paused to watch Peter and Cristina share a forever moment at Boturich Castle.
I’ve photographed a lot of weddings, but this one lingered. Boturich Castle has a way of reminding you to slow down and take it all in. Whatever it was, I’m grateful to have witnessed this very special occasion and to capture it all for my couple with the love and warmth that defines my work.
They flew in from Texas and settled into Cameron House. A 5 star lakeside retreat that offered both luxury and grandeur, the perfect beginning to a weekend of celebration. The day before the wedding, Peter and Cristina invited their closest to share in something more than tradition: clay pigeon shooting with the boys, high tea and hats with the ladies. It was playful, elegant, full of heart and fabulous to get involved with and shoot.
The morning of the wedding saw our bride and groom preparing in separate corners of Cameron House. Their first look was special and was beautifully theirs, on the bonny banks of Loch Lomond. Just as the song promises. All of these moments, full of anticipation and emotion, are always gold through the lens. Whether it be Cristina framed against the window to isolate her and Mom as they share a tender kiss, or Peter laughing nervously as his groomsmen dress him, and of course the intimate exchanges at the first look, these fleeting glimpses are destined to be cherished.
One look at Peter and Cristina’s ceremony at the fairytale Boturich Castle shows that Loch Lomond isn’t just beautiful—it’s cinematic. It’s the kind of place where nature doesn’t just whisper, it declares itself. And when it comes to weddings, it’s unforgettable, elevating every frame, every feeling, into something timeless. As a photographer, scenes like this make my job feel effortless. The light, the landscape, the emotion. It all unfolds so naturally with no direction needed. It’s the kind of perfection that puts AI in the shade. You can’t plan atmosphere like this. You just have to be there, ready to catch it as it happens.
After the meal and the speeches and as the daylight softened, it was time to take our happy couple outside and use that beautiful, gentle light to secure some fabulous, intimate keepsakes.
And finally, as everyone hit the dance floor, our talented bride turned DJ for a medley of her favourite tunes, and somehow managed to creatively segue from Mr Brightside to the Spice Girls. Now that takes some doing!
What made Peter and Cristina’s wedding so special wasn’t just the setting, it was the feeling. The ease between them, the laughter with their guests, the quiet glances that said more than words ever can. That’s what I’m drawn to as a photographer. I don’t just aim to capture how people look, I want to show how they feel. My ethos is rooted in connection: taking the time to understand my couples, to see them as they are, and to reflect that honestly in every frame. You’ll see it in the way these pictures show how Peter holds Cristina’s hand, or how she looks at him when no one is watching. These aren’t just pictures—they’re lived-in moments, preserved with care.
If that resonates with you, I’d love for you to explore my gallery and get in touch. Let’s tell your story, beautifully.
