What an amazing commission from the Radio Times, when I shot the inside of the control room of the National Grid. Most of the electricity in the country is controlled from this room, so for obvious reasons this is a pretty sensitive area. The reason that the Radio Times wanted this image shot is that the National Grid uses the magazine to help forecast extreme demands for power, like for instance when countless kettles are switched on when a major TV programme has ended.
The image has been used in this weeks issue as a double page spread as part of it's 'The Bigger Picture' feature.
